La mise en scène du réel
Marc-Emmanuel Mélon, a film historian at the University of Liège, reads Rob Rombout’s films as journeys made of fragments of reality, set in forms he calls the clothesline, the lace, the star and the constellation. An essay on the aesthetics of the work is followed by studies of eleven films, from Entre deux tours (1987) to On the Track of Robert van Gulik (2016), with Rob’s answers to Guy Jungblut on production, method and style.
