Joost de Vries

The portrait of Joost de Vries looks into his world of thought, his fascinations and his urge to know everything about a subject, against the relativism and cynicism of the writers before him. An interview films him, literally, from every side; his words follow the images of a train journey, and sometimes run against them. Writer and filmmaker meet in an anonymous, timeless carriage, while landscapes, chance stopovers, un-Dutch architecture and passers-by glide past.
